Mosquito Firefighters Roll Out the Red Carpet

The Mosquito community came together in a big way for this year’s National Night Out, celebrating the firefighters, volunteers, residents, and supporters who help protect our community and make it a more connected, resilient place to live.

With a blockbuster movie screening and a Hollywood-inspired red-carpet theme, the event transformed the fire department yard into a lively gathering place for neighbors of all ages. Historical artifacts honoring the station’s history and generations of first responders gave attendees a meaningful look at the legacy of service that continues to shape Mosquito today.

Kids enjoyed taking turns at the piñata, sharing snacks, and meeting the district’s firefighters and their families. Wani’s Tacos provided dinner as families visited, children played, and neighbors connected—many for the first time. Even on a midweek evening, the fire department yard was bustling with laughter, conversation, and a renewed sense of community pride.

This event was made possible through the dedication of Mosquito firefighters and the many residents who stepped up to donate, participate, plan, and help revive a cherished community tradition. It has been more than five years since Mosquito firefighters hosted their own authentic community event of this kind, and the energy throughout the evening showed just how vital these opportunities are to our community's lifeblood.

National Night Out was more than an event—it was a reminder that a strong, prepared community is built through relationships. When residents, volunteers, and first responders come together, they strengthen the bonds that help Mosquito thrive before, during, and after an emergency.

Thank you to every person who contributed their time, resources, energy, and support to make this celebration possible. Your involvement elevated the experience for the firefighters and the community they proudly serve. If you are interested in serving this community as a volunteer, there are many options and ways to get involved. Visit www.mosquitofire.com/community to learn more.
